The Renault Wind looks like a fun Audi Used Cars Scotland car to drive but does it deliver? For those of you who have not yet seen the new model from Renault, Wind is their latest two seater roadster. The basic 1.2 litre entry level model starts from a very competitive £12,995 but you will probably need to add £200 for the optional wind deflector! This car is wind by name and by nature.
So aside from the fact that this car looks really, really funky, how does it drive? The 1.2 litre version is ideal for city and town driving, delivering relevant amounts of response and pace. If you like something packed with a little more power then Renault has it covered. The Renault Wind also comes in a 1.6 litre version for an extra £900. When you get the car out onto the open road you will notice that the cabin is rather noisy but the mentioned deflector should assist with this.
If you are interested in the technical information then you should know that the roof can fold down in 12 seconds, there is a 270 litre boot capacity, it can do 0-62 in 10.5 seconds and has a top speed of 118 mph.
This is a really fun car to drive and I think it is in a class of its own. It is probably going to be competing against the FIAT500C TwinAir but as it offers a better drive at a cheaper price, the car will probably take the “wind” out of FIAT’S sails.
