Transformed from being the land of bicycles into a land of cars, China’s booming economy is driving up demand at a time when car sales are slow elsewhere in the world. Al Jazeera’s Tony Cheng visited the Beijing motor show which showed much promise in making China the future of the automotive industry.
Help answer the question about industry automotive
I have a lot of experience in the automotive industry if it is good to buy old crappy cars and fix profit?
I have a lot of experience in the automotive industry (basicly fully fixing and customizing with a little help) and was thinking to start buying old rusty (maybe classic) cars for like $500-$6000 and put like $15000 into it and fully fix it up what do you think the profit will be?
I have alot of people who are coming in and asking if i do that and was asking if that would be good to start
$1000 to $15000 depending on the custumer and the car
I have my own shop that has everything you need or want for a car

The next 3 to 5 years, the domestic pump industry will maintain a 11% ~ 12% growth rate. In particular, benefited from the country to implement active policies and expansion of domestic demand driven, electric power, iron and steel, petrochemical, and other key economic sectors and urban infrastructure needs continue to grow, China’s pump industry, machine building industry also will be higher than 2% ~ 3% of the rate of sustainable development.

China General Machinery Industry Association, a representative of the pump Branch 141 member companies of the statistical data show that in 2005, industrial output value was 16.699 billion yuan, up 42%; the completion of sales revenue 15.69 billion yuan, up 40%; to achieve total profits and taxes 1.7 billion, an increase of 65%; to achieve a total profit of 970 million yuan, an increase of 64.4%.

According to reports, the current pump industry’s major products are all kinds of centrifugal pump, mixed flow pump, axial flow pump, vortex pump, rotary displacement pump, reciprocating displacement pump and water ring vacuum pump and so on. Pump products in these categories, according to Taiwan, the number of terms, centrifugal pump accounts for about 70%, rotary volumetric pumps and reciprocating displacement pump about 18%. National has a certain scale pump manufacturing about 2,000, about 450 series product range more than 5,000 varieties. These pumps are widely used in the national economy sectors, basically meet the country’s economic development needs of the pump, including a variety of large complete sets of equipment have to provide matching pump capacity.

According to incomplete statistics, about 21% of the motors used to drive various types of pumps in thermal power and nuclear power industry, the pump has become the most important auxiliary; in the petrochemical industry, the pump has become an important device of the equipment manufacturing industry 1. Pump of foreign trade in recent years, rapid advances, the annual average growth rate at 4.5% around some tens of thousands of manufacturing companies. Among them, 10 major pump manufacturer (United States 4, Germany 2, Japan, Britain, Denmark, Switzerland, each one) and pump output value accounts for about 31% of the world.

China General Machinery Pump Industry Association branch, experts say, foreign pump industry is accelerating the pace of merger and reorganization, the number of pump manufacturers will continue to decrease in cross border inter firm competition and pump monopoly even further. According to incomplete statistics, since 2000, foreign pump industry has been in more than 80 major mergers and acquisitions, through the cooperation of such groups of development strategies, not only to maximize economies of scale, as well as conducive to the use of the original trademark and visibility achieve sustainable development.

Experts say China’s accession to WTO, the world’s major pump manufacturers are very concerned about the Chinese pump market, the world’s top 20 pump companies are prepared or have the vast majority of the construction of factory in China, the products of these enterprises are very high visibility, and in particular the field of market share is also high. Is expected in the next 3 to 5 years, foreign pump industry also will be an annual growth rate of about 5.5%.

While the domestic pump industry in recent years through the “market for technology” approach, so that the domestic pump industry, a key technical level with the pump improved, and some technology has reached advanced world level. In particular, is a major key to pumps and equipment, such as nuclear power with the pump, thermal power pumps, large pumps and other products to be lost rapidly.

In 2008 the “Eleventh Five Year,” the first year, although the state has further strengthened macro control, but did not “slam the brakes” method, but rather to maintain pressure. Judging from the current pump industry, the state owned large scale backbone enterprises and private enterprises order situation, the situation is very gratifying. Especially for electric power, petrochemical and metallurgical industries, the enterprise suite of products, so far, some companies contract amount has already surpassed last year more than doubled.

However, from another side, the revitalization of pump manufacturing, equipment manufacturing industry in particular is a major task remains arduous and urgent, the state imported in large quantities from abroad every year pump.
Industrial blowers are manufactured using a range of durable plastics and metals, or a combination of both materials. For example, industrial blowers operating in corrosive environments are usually made of polypropylene because it provides greater structural integrity and corrosion resistance, and will never de-laminate. Typical recommendations in the construction of industrial blowers are – fiberglass for temperatures above 220 degrees, and metal if pressure is above 10 w.g. (water gage).

The size of the blower may be regulated by the size of the environment in which it is to be operated. For instance, some units are big enough to house both the fan and its power supply. Smaller, portable blowers are mainly used for cleanups and in spaces that require temporary circulation or air transfer.

Industrial blowers are mainly used to circulate the movement of air and gas in ventilation applications. Their main function is to replace impure or contaminated air with fresh air by swirling it around. Almost every industry, including agricultural, chemical, medical, oil and gas, automotive, food processing, mining and construction use blowers for different purposes such as drying, reducing heat levels, reducing smoke and odors, processing and controlling gaseous fumes.

The air movement and control association recognizes three classes of industrial blowers, classified with numerical designation that is based on how the fan is constructed. The United States’ specifications for industrial blowers depend on the airflow in CFM (cubic feet per minute), static pressure in inches, water gage, altitude and approximate air temperature. Here’s an example:

Air conditioning can often become too large of an expense for industrial areas, but the good news is that an industrial fan can bring some much needed relief in this case. Industrial electric fans can be quite helpful for places where heat stratification, dampness, and stagnant air become frequent problems. Also, for high static pressure an industrial fan is what you need. Also known as an industrial electric blower, these units replace air as well by blowing out the old and stagnant air for a wide area that otherwise would collect this air without replenishing it in entirety.

Industrial fans also are helpful in removing pollutants like dust and metal particles, carbon monoxide, nitrous oxides, sulfur dioxide, sulfuric acid, and hydrocarbon solvents. Plus, industrial electric fans clearly do not use as much electricity as an air conditioner, circulating air and cooling it at a fast rate for a large space. With high-powered, energy-efficient motors, the larger motor of an industrial fan is actually guaranteed to save energy costs.

Tenderall Fan Co. is a supplier of blowers and fan for Pulp and Paper Industries. Tough applications mean tough fans and blowers by Tenderall Fan Co. Tenderall is a world wide distributor of industrial process ans OEM fans and blowers, as well as fan / blower components; including high pressure blowers, high temperature fans, spark resistant and explosion proof ventilators, tubeaxial and vaneaxial high pressure ventilators. Canada Blower also does existing fans and blowers repairs, re-build, as well as dynamical wheels balancing. High-efficiency impellers result in low power consumption, operating costs, and quieter operation. All metal hardware is completely sealed from exposure to corrosion by incapsulating into FRP or plastic; the steel support frame and motor base are powder coated with a corrosion-resistant finish. In addition to being highly resistant to chemical corrosion, PP fans are self-extinguishing and will not support combustion.

New Delhi, 8 Jan (ANI): According to the findings of a survey released on January 8th, by a consultancy firm, KMPG, rising production costs and dilapidated infrastructure is threatening the fast growth of Indian auto industry. Rising labour costs seem to be a cause of worry among the firms as a talent shortage drives up pay and staff turnover in an economy. India’s automotive industry, which produces 1.5 million vehicles annually, is worth 34 billion dollars a year and contributes five percent of India’s gross domestic product.
Help answer the question about industry automotive
Has the automotive industry considered this?
I know I may reveal my naivete, but considering the crisis that they are in now, I have always wondered why there is a drive to introduce new vehicles to market. Similar to computers and other products that require upgrades to extend service, why doesn't the automotive industry follow suit?

I was thinking this:
1) Instead of offering these ridiculous warranties for 100000 miles and creating new debt, why not keep a hefty warranty (say 50000) and offer an upgrades package? You would be surprised how many people want something just because it is new. If there were no new car option, they would resort to the next best thing…upgrades.

2) I think that it would work because it would keep a consumer returning after their warranty runs out…not just bc something has broken…but it isn't broken and can be better.

I don't know what the costs of implementation would be, but I wonder if some of these Ivy Leaguers with 4.0 G.P.A.'s have even thought of this?

The problem is, the auto industry as well as many other industries lacks hustle. Hustle meaning finding a way out of no way. When you employ the priveleged, you never know how to think your way out of being underpriveleged. I am saying this in general……of course there are exceptions, but it is not the norm. I think that the automotive industry as well as many other industries should promote education charities in lower income areas so that they can get a combo of education and common sense.

Maybe the plan is too idealistic, but I think that it leaves them much less leveraged to the consumer as they are and it is better to target cars that are already on the road than to look for new buyers. Any thoughts?
In addition, they could utilize their current resources and all of these auto factory workers wouldn't be getting layed off in such alarming numbers.

This is where salvage yards remove the useable parts from the vehicles and resell them at a less expensive rate to individuals and manufacturers. The automotives are stored in neat stacks and placed in an inventory list so that they can be easily found in the future. They get the motor vehicles from owners who don’t want to either spend the time or money to fix their old cars. They first start by accessing the cars to see what parts in it may be able to be used again. This is done by mechanics that are trained and can determine this. After this the simple parts like the mirrors and windshield are first taken out and stored. They move unto the major parts like the engine and test it and remove it if it passes the test.

The parts are then placed in showrooms so that they can be viewed by the customers. These parts are also recorded into a database that can be viewed not only by the other salvage yards in Utah but also in other states in the nation. The rest of the vehicle is either sold for scrap metal or if it is done there it’s moved to that department. The salvage yards that performs these tasks have to get a special license so as to make sure that they are following the laws that were laid down where this industry is concerned. The license is not only for Utah but also for the other states that do this. These parts can be bought on the internet through many websites and also by the individual visiting the yard. Some might think that this is more efficient but the same things that you would do at the yard you can do online. For instance, if you wanted to compare prices, this can be done by viewing different sites.

Are you tired of working for someone else and letting them get paid for it? Do you want to be your own boss? Have you always dreamed of running your own business? Many people today think these things every day; however they believe it is only a dream. Well this dream could become reality by starting an auto body franchise business.

If you are wondering what a franchise business is, it is simply a method that companies use to disperse its products or services through many different retail outlets which are owned by an independent third party. The third parties or franchisees’ are entitled to use trademarks, products, services and even techniques already established by the franchiser (developer/owner). Most of the time the franchiser offers ongoing support and resources for the franchisee to take advantage of. Many franchisers have already accrued many discounts with other business which the franchisee may also use. Depending on the franchise there may be many other benefits associated with running your own franchise!

So why is the automotive auto body franchise business a great way to get into business ownership; just they a look at the numbers. There were 220 million vehicles on U.S. roads in 2003, a figure that had been growing steadily at approximately 5% per year. We can use this figure to project that there will be more than 275 million vehicles on the road in 2008. More vehicles means a larger market, and an increased number of minor accidents as streets and parking lots become more crowded. Every 17 seconds a reported rear end collision occurs, and every 8.5 seconds an unreported rear end collision occurs. The most frequent accident on the road is the rear end collision, at almost 29.7%, and 75% of these accidents occur at less than 10 mph. Fully 12% of Americans had minor damage repaired on their vehicle in the last year alone! 36% of all minor auto body damage is to the front or rear bumper. More than a third!

Compared with other services, auto repair is a real bargain. Over the past decade, the cost of hospital services has risen more than 100%, and the cost of financial services has jumped 90%. Automotive maintenance and repair costs, in contrast, have risen just 44.5%, making auto repair the darling of the service industry.

Now you may be wondering why you should start a franchise instead of starting your own business simply from scratch. Well, the main reason is because 5% of businesses succeed in their first 5 years, meanwhile 75% of franchises succeed in the same time. So you have a much higher chance at succeeding in a franchise business. Another reason is that the franchise already has a working system in place. You will not have to try and fail until you find the solution while wasting your time and money. Another benefit is that there are others out there on your side who can offer advice and suggestions to help your business thrive. Even though there is a system in place it will take your determination and leadership skills to successfully run the business!

Engineering and technological advances in the automotive industry have created a strong demand for highly skilled auto technicians. The Automotive Technician program at Southwest Tech is certified by the National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (NATEF) and is designed to prepare the student for an entry level position in this industry. First year students are trained in proper maintenance practices, including engine, cooling, and drivetrain service. Electrical system service and testing, drivetrain, manual transmission and engine repair procedures are also covered. Emphasis is placed on the development of safe work habits, efficiency, and problem solving skills through out the program. Second year students are trained to service air conditioning, steering and suspension, brakes, automatic transmissions, fuel, emission and ignition systems. They work with the latest diagnostic test equipment to develop efficient and reliable diagnostic and repair techniques needed to service and repair today’s automobiles.
Help answer the question about industry automotive
Metal Forming Processes used in Automotive Industry?
Hi,

While there are no water-powered cars on the market, scientists are working hard at finding a way to cheaply mass produce these vehicles. These cars would be a great way to clean up our environment as they have no harmful emissions.

Advantages:

If water cars could be developed and used by everyone then we would have no need for gas stations, oil refineries and tankers. There would be no more need for drilling for oil. The corner gas station would be a distant memory. In addition, the Ozone layer would return to pre-industrial conditions without any holes and the smog would disappear. Our environment would be much cleaner.

Water cars are cheaper. Water costs a lot less than gasoline. And it is very easy to get water to fill up your car.

Water cars are much better for the environment as they produce no emissions. Therefore they will not contribute to global warming.

Water is always being produced. It is very unlikely the earth will ever run out of water. And using a water-powered car it might help the environment. Water cars, using a process called electrolysis, send oxygen into the atmosphere. The oxygen can bind with hydrogen in the atmosphere to product water in the form of rain and snow.

Disadvantages

Water cars, if they came on the market, would be very expensive as they cost a lot to produce. However, there are developers working to make a cheaper car.

The water cars that are being developed today still use what is called brown gas and it is mixed with water using a method called electrolysis to produce power for the car. So this type of water card would still need gasoline. However a lot less gas would be needed and it would not have to be as refined to do its job.

There are some skeptics that say the concept of a water car is one big scam and is an impossibility. Only time will tell as there are people that believe in this process and are diligently working to produce an effective and affordable water powered vehicle.

Water cars might still a dream of the future. However, if they do come to fruition, these amazing low pollution vehicles will be the answer to high gas and oil prices. They will actually contribute to the well being of our environment.

Today however we can only rely on conservative driving to get us where we want to go. Or, better yet the foot-powered bicycle is a great option to save on gas and prevent pollution or look to public transportation and shoe leather as alternate means of transportation until the water car is ready for the market.
